About Our Executive Team
Our executive recruitment team is headed up by Principal Consultants Katie Alexander and Jo Shapley. Katie and Jo have been delivering outstanding results for their clients and candidates over the past five years each at Capital Recruit; and collectively for almost 40 years in total!
Katie is an HR and recruitment professional with 20 years of industry experience; including a decade leading teams across several APS agencies and recruiting into the APS with a multinational agency and now Capital Recruit. Using her professional expertise and lived experience, Katie has built a strong and trusted partnership across the HR and SES cohort in the government sector.
Katies’ professionalism and honesty with her stakeholders has enabled her to build a strong reputation among hiring managers from Assistant Director level to SES Band3s. With her experience in the APS, Katie is a trusted advisor to executive delegates on applying the merit principles in the recruitment of executive level candidates.
Jo Shapley has extensive experience in HR and executive recruitment both in Canberra and the corporate finance market in Melbourne. Jo has delivered multiple successful hires to a diverse range of clients nationally in government, commercial, and not-for-profit sectors.
Jo has developed a reputation for building trusted and transparent relationships with her stakeholders, and consistently partners with her clients and candidates to connect the right talent with the right organisation.
Jo offers a partner based approach to her clients and candidates which has enabled her to build a vast network of senior executives connections. Jo will work with your business, or talent acquisition team to secure the right talent for your organisation and overcome your recruitment pain points. Jo specialises in senior appointments in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.
